Calm Hippo is a small, independent candle and home fragrance business based in Cheshire.

What began as a simple hobby over a decade ago grew organically through word of mouth. Requests from family and friends soon led to pop-up stores and artisan markets, before naturally evolving into retail partnerships.

As demand has grown, we have carefully expanded our workshop in the heart of leafy Cheshire, allowing us to increase capacity while staying true to what matters most to us: small-batch production, hands-on craftsmanship and uncompromising quality.

That commitment is reflected in every product we make. We use only the highest-quality sustainable, vegan-friendly ingredients, creating candles and home fragrances with universal appeal — loved by those who practise mindfulness and meditation just as much as those who simply want their home to smell beautiful.

Every Calm Hippo product is designed, made, tested and packaged by us, with genuine care and attention to detail. Producing in small batches allows us to maintain exceptional quality while reducing waste and keeping sustainability at the heart of what we do.

Our core collection features 20 carefully curated fragrances spanning all the main scent families, with limited-edition seasonal scents introduced throughout the year. Subtle, laser-etched packaging blends matt, chrome and natural elements for a sense of understated, unpretentious luxury.

We’re passionate about candles, and nothing leaves our workshop without being hand-checked. All of our candles are cured for a minimum of four weeks before being batch tested and approved for sale, ensuring the best possible burn and fragrance experience.
